Proper Allen set screw torque is essential to sprocket reliability. Use Allen wrenches with square ends and corners.
Use caution when mounting sprockets close to gear reduction box. Align chain to miss filler bolt. Install chain master link with keepers facing opposite the engine.
Installation Tips
1. Clean shaft, making sure to remove all burrs from key set area. The best thing to do, other than buying a reconditioned shaft from BKRP, is to remove the old sprocket and hub. With the engine in the car and motor bolts tight, use a power drill with a socket head on an extension and start the motor from the flywheel nut. Once motor has started take some emery cloth/sand paper (120 grit recommended) and run it across the shaft until smooth. Keep working it until the new sprocket slides on and off smoothly, but snug.
2. Oil shaft with light oil (WD-40) or anti-seize
3. Slide sprocket and key on about 1/8" from engine.
4. Remove the keys' setscrew.
5. With a drill or marker, go down the setscrew hole and place a mark on the key.
6. Remove key and drill a dimple with a 9/64" drill bit about .06" deep.
7. Clean and re-insert key, making sure to align dimple with setscrew hole.
8. Re-insert setscrew into dimple snugly so it holds the key in place ONLY.
9. Tighten the two clamp bolts TIGHT.
10. Tighten the setscrew.
11. If needed, Loctite 242 Threadlocker may be applied to set screw and clamp bolts.
12. Check all screws before and after every race.
13. Go race and drive clean and fast!!!!
